Subtractive Poetry

Subtractive poetry is poetry created from an already existing block of text and crossing out words, or subtracting them, leaving behind a few choice words or sentences to create a unique poem.  Magazine or newspaper articles are most frequently used, as well as, photocopied pages from a beloved book (because you wouldn’t want to deface a perfectly good book, would you?) or ripped out pages from an already damaged book (we wouldn’t want anything to go to waste, right?).
